HL2 Colt Python Sounds

New sounds for the .357 Colt Python (v2)

A replacement for all of the .357 Magnum's sounds, fire and reload. The fire sound is somewhat inspired by Battlefield 3's 44. Magnum.

Version 2 Changes:

  • Fire sound now has a bit more powerful feel to it.
  • Fire sound now has a longer, more outdoor-sy echo.

Great, but stated by SevenZero, it could use some improvement. Still, makes my magnum sound like a powerhouse. Beware, Combine, I'm coming for your heads.

    Pros:

    • Clarity, It's what your submission is all about. You were able to maintain the sound's quality, even if you had to mix several other sounds from people and you still managed to keep this crystal clear (the way I make mine). Kudos to you for that.
    • This sound has the great POW in it. Though it lacks a little bit of it but still, it fits the default .357 for HL2. You get a high score for this.
    • Very nice ambience, but it's a bit so-so. It kinda doesn't fit most of the environment in HL2, most of it is wide-open fields and hills. Otherwise, it's a pretty decent way to get good ambience.

    Cons:

    • As stated above, the ambience kinda lacks a bit. It cuts off too fast and sounds like you're in a tight area.

    Improvements:

    • You should make that echo feel a bit longer so it would fit HL2's environment.
    • Try practicing with your program's amplifier, equalizer and other stuff that could give the sound more POW to fit the .357

    Notes:

    • This is what I call quality submission, our kind of sound artists are a dying breed, continue making these kind of stuff and keep up the good work.
