Half-Life 2: Preload 6 Released

By I2o[G]uE^TacT-X 9 years ago

The sixth (and hopefully final) preload of Half-Life 2 has been released over Steam. This time around, the preload contains the Half-Life 2 maps. You can download the preload by restarting Steam. You can read VALVe's official statement below.

The sixth phase of the Half-Life 2 preload begins to Steam account holders today. This will allow users to download the Half-Life 2 maps in encrypted form. No purchase is required to pre-load Half-Life 2, but is required to activate the game. The moment the game is made available, those who have pre-loaded and purchased the game via Steam will be ready to start playing.
Just as a final word of warning, this is a very large download.

Controls always take awhile to get used to...it's a given.

I remember trying to get used to the keyboard controls when I first started playing Doom back in the early 90's. I used the keyboard up until the late 90's when my friends got me to try the SpaceOrb. I hated that at first but stuck with it for several years and got pretty good. Then along came CS and the keyboard was the way to go (since the Spaceball wasn't supported very well anymore) It took me awhile to get used to the keyboard controls after using the SpaceOrb for many years. Now I'm up to speed with the keyboard again and, low and behold, time to try a new controller. I'm still not that good at it, but I'll get better with practice....like I always do. I just gotta suck it up and take the head shots...for now;)

Yes, I just don't understand FPS for consoles. FPS are made for PC! The only good FPS to ever grace a console was 007: Goldeneye and Metroid Prime. FPS are made for PC, what's the point in exchanging the natural keyboard and mouse for a controller? What's more, CS was great on the PC, why release a crapper version for the XBox?

Did you take the leftover of last years Thanksgiving, shove it in your head and call it a “brain”? Look at what happened to Enter the Matrix: all the reviews dissed it but because the Matrix has so many fans around the world the game came to be the fastest selling one ever. CS has a lot of fans, so I don't the the reviews would change much. What's more, how can Sierra cancel a released game?

What reviews say it sucked? Only review I seen that was somewhat negative was IGN. Every other site gave it rave reviews.

I played the game and loved it, and really am looking forward to picking it up. I bet not one person here who posted negative comments have even tried the game. Its CS.. the game we all love, but on the X-Box. If you love CS already so much, then why are you quick to call it a crap game?
